"Hey, Anybody There?" has been released!

This game was originally created in RPG Maker 2000 back in 2013, under the title ごめんください (Gomenkudasai).
Later, I rebuilt it in RPG Maker MV, and now, in 2025, I’ve finally localized it for an English-speaking audience.

This game is free to play.
I made it because I wanted people outside Japan to experience a very specific kind of horror:
“Nothing happens, but it’s terrifying.”
That’s the core of this game.

When this game was first released in Japan,
it became something of a cult hit.

Some of the country’s most well-known YouTubers and streamers played it,
including Let’s Players like Retoruto, Kiyo, and Kosuke—
names that might not be familiar outside Japan,
but within the community, they’re legends.

This game wasn’t loud, or violent.
It just stayed with people.

This is not your typical horror game.
Even now, years later, it still feels strangely fresh.

The gameplay is simple:
You go to your neighbor's door to complain.
You knock. You ring the intercom. Maybe again. And again.

But how does that become a horror game?

You’ll just have to try it and see.

Maybe it’ll get under your skin.
Or maybe you’ll find yourself asking:
“…Is this even a game?”
